Freelancers in 2026: "AI is helping me setup ClickUp"I asked Gemini to make ClickUp work better for my freelancing business... Just for shits and gigs, yanno? Bc like all of you, I'm low-grade anxious about what AI will do to my career, so why not see what I'm up against? And it spit out a few solid suggestions.One or two that I actually teach myself. But it also told me to "create a client dashboard" ... which I know from experience isn't worth the time (they won't use it). It told me to use tags for time management, to categorize tasks by admin, quick wins, deep work... which sounds smart, but really just ends up creating more clutter/confusion. It told me to use a calendar view to look at my days, to plan for my week... which sounds smart, but is actually not even close to the best way to do that. Basically, it wasn't totally useless... But it was 100% leading me in the wrong direction.And assuming that if someone is asking AI questions like that, they're probably doing it bc they feel overwhelmed. So the word vomit that AI spits out only adds to that feeling. Real talk: every minute of your time matters when you're a team of one, so its hella frustrating to feel like any of it is being wasted. You know... chatting on Slack, sending 10 min long voice notes to your bestie, compulsively checking email, immediately jumping on every little thing your needier clients ask for. But I hate to say it... chatting with AI about ClickUp? ALSO not time not well spent.
