Less is more + your ClickUp is probs doing *too much*My husband and I have one of those awesome best friend-type relationships. We laugh 24/7 and almost never fight… except when it comes to our dog. If you’re ever been a first time puppy owner, then make that puppy a reactive alert barking doodle... trust me when I say: you’re in for a rude awakening. 😬 To know me is to know that I don’t shy away in the face of a challenge. I'm the kinda gal that lies in bed at night, face lit up with bad for you blue light that I know will keep me up, frantically googling a solution to something that I just have to figure out right now bc no it can't wait until tomorrow. That means I dove deep into dog training, and my husband let me take the lead. Fast-forward 3 years:He has 0 patience for our dog and gets so mad when he doesn’t listen... but then turns around and spouts out something like: “Denver what are you doing, DENVER, I told you to go to your place. place. DENVER. QUIET. place. place.” VS me… who he listens to immediately: “Denver… PLACE” The dog knows words, but he doesn’t know that many words. 🙄 So the message gets lost and poor old Denver doesn’t know what to do, and that makes daddy mad. BUT IT'S TOO MUCH, DADDY. Now believe it or not... This is exactly the *same situation* with your ClickUp right nowWhen you gotta go to the exact location for everything bc you don’t have a central way to manage your workload without looking at ALL THE THINGS… it’s TOO MUCH for your brain and you don’t know where to start. So you do nothing… Or you do the easy thing that actually doesn’t need to get done right now... Or it takes 20x longer to get to work so a quarter of what you thought you'd do gets done and the rest gets pushed off... again But that’s not a YOU problem. It’s also not ClickUp’s fault either. You just don't have a system for it yet, and *thankfully* that's quite simple to setupSo instead of bouncing between client lists, looking at endless to-do’s, and making decisions about what to work on without the full picture… You can decide what to prioritize based on what the client actually pays you, and work from a singular plan of action based on how much (or little) you actually want to work per day. Planning to take a day off this week? That’s reflected in your weekly plan. Planning to take a half day on Friday? Tack on an extra hour or two to today. It’s a literal breath of fresh air when all you have to do is log on and go to one place to know exactly what to do and when to do it. So it’s not... “Reader, look at this client, then that client, then this project, that task, those priorities, figure out what to start with, and eventually get to work” It’s... “Reader. This is what you're working on today: get to work.” It really is that easy. Like this email idea came to me walking my dog this morning bc I already knew that the "first draft" task was in my plan. No time wasted figuring out what to do, so my brain had space to start percolating ideas without even trying. Explaining what the Focus Framework is and does has been a journey...And my last product page seemed to "say stuff" but somehow say nothing at all. 🤷♀️ Lately with time and space, the clarity is coming through. I hope this more accurately describes the magic, and the significant transformation found on the other side of Focus Framework. Forever focused, Robyn Robyn Henke Subscribe on YouTube
