has this week been hard for you, too?

My *antidote* to uncertainty

This has been a trying week for me, and I wonder if you're feeling it too.

I'm pretty sure the most uncomfortable and unnatural place to hang out is in uncertainty.

And being self-employed is a WHOLE big mess of that.

I know for me, when I feel uncertainty in my business, I'm even more vulnerable to ALL the uncertainties in the world (and there are many).

It's like if I'm worried about one thing, I'm more likely to worry about all things.

I've seen it on LinkedIn too. Freelancers are worried. Work is slowing down. AI is changing everything. The uncertainty is everywhere.

It feels like a lot.

And when it feels like a lot, fear takes over

My lip picking habit ramps up...

I feel exhausted no matter how much sleep I get.

But over the years I've learned that the best thing for me when I feel afraid and unsure... is to make a plan.

Not because planning fixes everything.

But because action shuts fear up 🤐

Like, if you're worried about getting clients right now... don't just bury the fear and work harder on the clients you do have.

Create a plan to start fixing the problem, then treat that plan like client work. Make it part of your workload. Put it in your weekly and daily plan. Continue to evolve the plan. Give it the same importance as any client request.

Even if you have no idea what to do... the first step can be to figure out what to do... literally scroll on LinkedIn, ask AI (I like Claude best), message a friend.

Bc fear? It thrives in inaction. But with forward momentum (even slowwwwwly), fear has a much harder time sticking around.

You sure as shit don't need to have all the answers, you just need to take the next step.

So this week, I'm encouraging you (and myself) to put fear aside...

Sit down. Think about where you wanna go. Create a rough plan. Start taking action.

It feels REALLY, REALLY good.

What's one step you can take this week towards where it is you wanna go?

Your self-appointed plan motivator,

Robyn
