Four things sucking your energy bone-DRY ☠️I was thinking about you today, and why you're here. Like, subscribing to Crying over ClickUp I mean. 🙃 But then I remembered how painfully generic all of ClickUp's trainings are, and how difficult it is to make it work for freelancing. And how that's even more difficult when you don't know specifically what's hard or why it's hard. Like, if I asked ClickUp... what does a freelancer NEED to build? What are the CORE things? They might say: ugh... project management? ugh... timesheets? ugh... recurring tasks? Thanks for coming, but no. Articulating the SPECIFIC reasons WHY ClickUp is best for freelancers hasn't been easy... But after a quick 10-min meditation, I had the CLEAR thought: There are FOUR energy-zapping culprits that ClickUp banishesThey are the obvious but also not-so-obvious drains on your brain... But without a doubt, fixing these in ClickUp is how you make freelancing feel easy. Energy zap 1:Not having a centralized approach to storing client info.I'm talking about messages on slack, email threads, docs, attachments, meeting notes. All the makings of "let me just find that real quick" and proceeding to spend 5+ stressful minutes hunting for info you KNOW is somewhere. Energy zap 2:Not having a big picture plan of what you're doing right now across all of your clients. There's no shortage of stuff to be done, but if you aren't intentional about where your focus goes, it'll always feel like working a lot but making little progress. Energy zap 3:Not having a structured way to plan out your day so it's actually feasible. You're only one person and you don't wanna work 12 hour days or 7 day weeks, so you need to know exactly where every working hour is going across all of your clients. Energy zap 4:Not having a real-time way to keep track of how much time you're spending per client. You're bouncing between clients with no real sense of where your hours are actually going, losing valuable time hunting for info... "am I even making money with this client at this point?" I can tell you're nodding along. But did you realize you were fighting so many lil' energy battles when all you're doing is sitting at your desk tap-tap-tapping away? That's what this newsletter is all about tho... I wanna point this shit out to you, but also remind you that it's not a YOU problem. You don't "suck". These are glorified setup problems, and the good news about that is: setup problems are solvable. SoOoOoOo over the next few newsletters, I'm taking each zap one at a time and digging into the HOW ClickUp actually handles it (the foundations way, not the ClickUp University way... burn). Until then... go easy on yourself. You're in the right place! Your unofficial energy zap banisher, Robyn Robyn Henke Did someone forward this to you? Subscribe here. The ClickUp JUICE 🧃🎁 the wrap text featureGot LOTS of columns in a ClickUp view?? You already know how to make columns bigger or smaller, but do you know that you can also WRAP TEXT? This is quite literally the SMALLEST teeny tiny setting, but it makes a world of difference when you're trying to look at a lot of info in one place. New Newz 👀Did you hear that ClickUp laid off 22% of it's workforce? They're saying it's so they can funnel those wages into salary bands of $1M+ so for ONCE, it's not for the greedy guys at the top: "This wasn't about cutting costs," Evans wrote on X. "Most savings from this change will flow directly back into the people who stay. We'll be introducing million-dollar salary bands." So basically, figure out how AI can make ClickUp even better, and money is comin' your way. Me? I don't f with ClickUp's AI shit... do you?
What is Focus Framework??No gatekeeping here. I opened up the course and showed you exactly what you're getting if you take Focus Framework. Take a peek if it's been on your mind. ⬇️ Do Your Worst 💔 Unsubscribe |
