Are we in the goldfish brain era?I think about my brain a lot. And yes, I'm aware of how bizarre it is to think about the thing that creates the thoughts, but here we are. It just feels so delicate lately, like if I come across one more thing I need to be concerned about, I may just perish on the spot. I read that the average person processes 74GB of info PER DAY from devices which apparently is the equivalent of watching 16 movies, reading over 200,000 words, or scrolling on TikTok for nearly 200 hours. Wild, right? And that figure grows 5% every year. Now add actual life on top of that: aging parents, tax deadlines, the subscription you forgot to cancel, the text still waiting for a response. No wonder our brains feel maxed outMom brain, goldfish brain, brain-fried < we've got so many names for the same thing: info overload baby. I think that's why people swear by digital cleanses, no phones after 8, no tv before bed, no news, etc. All great ideas. Here's another great brain-soothing idea:Use ClickUp to organize whatever confusion is going on in your brain, and give it a different home. For example, I'm working on a really special offer for next week, and the mental gymnastics around what was happening and when was tripping me tf out. Sure, ClickUp is project management (duh, Focus Framework) But it also makes one hell of a database 😈It was for this exact purpose that I created the "key dates" list last year: My brain was trying to hold all these scattered pieces Which made me feel confused & overwhelmed & when I brain-dumped the info in a helpful visual format... immediate relief The best part? It's not cluttering up my beloved google cal bc I don't need to see that shit all the time, but it's right where I know it will be when I do. Reader, if you're also feeling the overwhelm rn, ask yourself: what am I holding on to mentally that I could store in ClickUp? My inbox is always open to talk it through.
