Crying Over ClickUp by Robyn Henke

they updated ClickUp again 😅

2026 is like two weeks away

And I knowwwww you're low key dreaming about being more organized in the new year.

SO: I've got something planned for January that's gonna help make that happen.

It involves ClickUp (obviously), spending less time figuring out what to do and more time actually doing it, and finally experiencing a ClickUp that supports you instead of adding to your stress.

Stay tuned for more on that...

ClickUp just dropped version 4.0 & *spoiler*... something changed

I swear, every tool I use got a whiff of that new year new me energy because it feels like they ALL decided to change their UX at the exact same time.

But ClickUp? That's the only one I actually care about.

ClickUp 4.0 is being pushed through, so obviously I had to give it a go.

Although every part of me was like NOOOOOOOO bc you just never know what the heck they're gonna change.

Since I literally JUST opted in days ago, this is definitely a to-be-continued topic, but here's what immediately jumped out to me:

⭐️ Favourites got a pretty cool upgrade

Right away I noticed that my pinned favourites bar was straight up MISSING.

If you've taken any of my courses or watched my YouTube videos, you've probably heard me talk about the favourites bar and the task tray at least once.

Favourites bar = where I keep my go-to views + dashboards I use to run my business.

Task tray = where I pin tasks and docs I'm actively working on (landing page copy, email drafts, whatever).

I use this stuff every single day and rely on it heavily, so seeing that it disappeared made me panic for a second.

But alas... it actually got kinda BETTER?

Bc instead of having to separately pin your favourites bar AND your task tray (which honestly, no one knew how to do anyway), now...

There's just ONE favourites option with 3 location options: side, top, and bottom.

AKA: no more "task tray" option.

This is a small thing that makes a big difference when you use ClickUp *for everything*

For me, the extent of "using" Asana or Teamwork was popping in to check + update tasks, then leave.

When you're fully experiencing ClickUp the way it's meant to be used, every single thing you do happens in ClickUp.

Which means you NEED easy ways to get back to the stuff you're actively using.

Otherwise ClickUp itself VERY EASILY becomes part of the overwhelm

I swear, it's the smallest core features of ClickUp that make the biggest difference in whether it supports or stresses you out.

Here's a quick walkthrough of the *brand new* ClickUp 4.0 favourites:

(Oh, and if you want all 5 shortcuts that make navigating ClickUp actually feel *dare I say* easy, I made a whole video about that too)

XO,

Robyn
