What if clients aren't actually annoying + ClickUp can fix it?You know that irritating thing that clients do when you ask them 3 questions and they only respond to 2? ๐ Now that "quick little email" turns into two more, and a whole bunch of waiting around for info. Don't they realize you've got shit to do?? My husband and I got into a little tiff about this the other day. He's annoyed at this "annoying" new client who's being annoying and not answering all his totally not annoying questions. ๐ฅฒ I said, "Why don't you just call her? It sounds like you need to have a quick phone call to get all the info" Then he made that face he makes when his defense mode engages.
I mean I get it... I've done the whole blaming clients for how I feel, but with time, I've realized it's kinda sorta actually a bit of a cop out. ๐ฌ Like when you bring a new client on board...This is a critical client relationship moment bc it's when you establish your authority and take fkn charge. Freelancer 1: fires a bunch of "just one more thing" emails, & chases the client around for all the questions they annoyingly didn't answer. Freelancer 2: sends one professional intake form with required fields that must be completed before onboarding can begin. Which of those to you says I'M THE REAL FKN DEAL, YO?? My whole identity as a business owner changed with ClickUp, once I realized I could build shit that makes every single client interaction better. > Without systems, clients are subtly calling the shots, and it's not the easiest thing to change once the norm is set. > With systems, clients fall back and let you lead, and it's way, WAY better for everyone. The *simplest system* you can setup with ClickUp is a sales CRM + formThis was one of my first serious ClickUp wins that got me fkn hooked on this sweet, sweet drug for good. Sales calls are SO important for establishing authority, and the quickest way to do that is with preparation. Going in blind with just "Bill told me you can help with marketing. Interested to learn more about your packages"... bit too open-ended. VS Going in prepared with their budget, business model, biggest challenges, timeline, and goals already provided... I fucking love ClickUp forms for this, honestly ๐It's so simple! Create a form with the info you need, embed it on your website, and now every time a prospective client fills it out, it automatically creates a sales CRM entry with all of their responses. You can even add a simple little automation that applies a sales task template with your typical sales questions, so prepping for and leading the call is easy as pie. ^ Book a process power hour if you wanna do this together (+ build on it with some sweet client onboarding add-on's if there's time ๐คค) Being mad at your clients isn't necessarily their fault... ๐What if the rage was actually an invitation to notice when your processes & systems (or maybe lack there of) are actually to blame, and what can I build to make this flow easier? That's when the real growth happens IMHO. Do you use ClickUp forms for anything? I KNOW you've got some moments of "holy shit, this is so much better" with ClickUp by now!
