You're good at this... and that's a problem 😬Guys, I'm curious how many of you would describe yourself as an "expert"? I know... it's a weird thing to call yourself. But it's actually kinda important that you do cuz it's also the reason you always gotta work late. Maybe you don't see yourself as an expert, but I think any freelancer that's been doing it for a while is an expert bc you don't need to figure out how to do your work. You know what to do... and that's actually the problem. 👀Most freelancers that know what they're doing also have this bad habit of making vague daily task lists: Content Calendar Annual Report Publish newsletter You know the tasks I'm talking about...written down like they're one thing to do, when you know damn well there's quite a bit involved. Coincidence that those are the same tasks you always wanna put off?I think not. 😏 Then by the time you finally do get started, it drags on and on, so you either have to work late, or push it to the next day and something else can't get done. I call this the blob approach to planning, and it's killing your work vibes. Trust. I'm not kidding when I say every single person I've worked with did this.I did this. I don't do this anymore, and haven't for 3 solid years (which equals almost 8.5k tracked hours in ClickUp btw). And holy shit, I have NEVERRRR: → been more productive and HAPPY → felt MORE in control → accomplished SO much in the face of my fears A planned week looks a little different, but it's nothing you don't already do in your had. The Curse of the Expert is a REAL thing you can fix, once you know it's a thing. ⬇️ Peep the new mini-book over on LinkedIn. Do you like this new format?? Let me know!
